Equipment formed by a shell formwork and a carriage (R=5,88m and 10m length) and a formwork to do the first
section (shoe of the tunnel).
Project: Railway tunnel - line Boughezoul-Djelfa (Argelia). 140km of total line length, one way 220km/h max speed.
Length of the tunnel to be built: 600 & 800m.

What was the challenge?:
Self-supporting formwork made up of modular panels and a carriage to facilitate the assembly process and the movement of the formwork from one casting position to the next. The formwork is anchored to the ground by means of a patented wedging system, which is the best option to ensure fixation, offer a great reliability and perfect adjustment and all of this without the need of any auxiliary element. Both, carriage and formworks have telescopic legs in order to be adapted to section changes. First phase formwork (shoe) will adapt to curved floor and flat floor just by replacing one single piece. On both sides of the formwork will be working platforms on 2 levels. There will also be working platforms on the front and rear part of the carriage. Steel grating will be used for the floor of the working platforms. Working platforms will be design following international safety standards. With the formwork is provided assembly and operational manual and maintenance and security guide; all of them in French. Shell formwork has a hydraulic, electrical and safety system that allows all works to be carried out in a safety way.
